William Crantford grew up in a family that was passionate about public affairs, politics and community involvement. William’s interest in the legal underpinnings of our society began at an early age. Actively involved in politics since high school, William developed a profound interest in government. While working on his BA in Political Science at Louisiana State University, William took a course on the community and the law. This academic experience pushed him to work in state wide political campaigns in South Carolina after graduating from LSU. Eventually William joined the staff of a prestigious complex litigation law firm in Charleston. William’s practical training and experience as a researcher for the firm helped him determine that a career as a litigator was what he wanted. Enrolling in Charleston School of Law, William was recognized for his pro bono work outside of the classroom. He also served as a clerk for the Ninth Circuit Solicitor. After graduation and passing the bar William was selected as Clerk for the Honorable Maite Murphy of South Carolina Circuit Court. William traveled the circuit and state for a year participating in hundreds of pleadings, hearings and trials. In August 2015 with partner Jerry Meehan, the law firm Crantford Meehan was formed.

Jerry Andrew Meehan, Jr. (Jam) is a native of South Carolina, spending most of his life in the low country of South Carolina. From a young age he was instilled with the importance of service and civic duty. Jerry was active in The Boy Scouts of America, and went on to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout. Jerry attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, and graduated with a BA in Political Science in 2005. Upon completion of College, Jerry worked in Real Estate Development and then went on to pursue a successful business venture, which he still manages today.

In order to follow through with a child-hood dream of becoming an Attorney, Jerry enrolled in the Charleston School of Law in 2011. During law school Jerry completed an internship for The Honorable Solomon Blatt, Jr., Senior United States District Judge. Upon completion of law school, Jerry knew that he wanted to be part of a law firm that treats clients like people, and not case files.

In 2017 Jerry attended and graduated from Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming. Trial Lawyers College is an intense three week College dedicated to training Lawyers who are committed to the jury system and to representing and obtaining justice for individuals. Additionally, Jerry is AV Preeminent Rated, the Highest Peer Rating Standard.

J. Kirkland Grant is admitted to the bars of Michigan, New York, South Carolina, and federal courts including the U.S. Supreme Court. He was Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Charleston School of Law from 2005 to 2015. Professor Grant was in general corporate and securities at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York and Bingham, Dana & Gould in Boston. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School and Columbia University School of Law and dean at Delaware Law School. He is emeritus professor at Touro Law School, where he served as a full professor from 1984 until 2005 and Academic Dean. He has been a federal and state court appointed master and mediator, and he serves as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, New York Stock Exchange, National Association of Securities Dealers, FINRA and other groups. he has also been an expert witness in several business litigations. Professor Grant was reported for revision of the South Carolina Business Corporation Law and author of New York Corporation Law Handbook; Securities Arbitration (Quorum Books, 1994); and various articles on contract, insurance, corporate, and business law. He is active on several local charity boards and as advisor and consultant on legal matters to law firms and corporations.
